Lower East Side.

Returning to New York after life in an all-white home in Los Angeles, our client was craving color. And, she wanted every room in her new apartment to have its own mood. With that wishlist in place, we began with the living room interior design, anchoring the space with a custom-designed walnut panel that creates division for the entry area and sets a subtle 1970s tone. Warm, sunset-yellow walls, a custom shag rug, vintage furnishings, and a dining banquette complete the cool but cozy effect.

In the combination home office/media room, we went for a more intimate mood, trading the sunny palette for a dramatic, enchanted-forest atmosphere, with a custom-designed workspace and binge-watch-worthy velvet sofa. The bedroom design has its own relaxed identity—wrapped in a deep-sea blue and balanced with soft neutral accents. Together, the three spaces provide a soothing respite from the client’s busy city life.
